WinHEC 2006 is beginning tomorrow in Seattle. The Exhibition Hall is already open. Terminal Services is going to have an important presence in this year’s WinHEC. I want to very briefly mention the few things the TS team is doing:
-
SER014 - Optimising Drivers for Terminal Server's Plug and Play Device Redirection Framework: With Vista and Longhorn Server, we are introducing a new framework for redirecting Plug-and-Play devices over the RDP protocol. With Vista and Longhorn, our redirection framework will support out-of-the-box Windows Portable Devices (WPD) and Windows Embedded for Point of Sale (POS) devices. In this 300–Level Technical Session, Gaurav Daga from the TS Connected Experience PM Team will discuss the architecture of PnP device redirection and describe how devices can seamlessly be made available to applications in Terminal Servers. Gaurav will also cover the requirements of the framework that are now a part of the Windows Vista Hardware Logo Program . Wednesday 5/24, 3:15pm – 4:15pm
-
Ask The Experts: Members of the TS team will be present in the Connected Devices tables to answer questions. Evenings, Tuesday 5/23 thru Thursday 5/25.
-
Windows Driver Kit Hands-On Lab: Vista WHQL certification program will cover requirements related to redirection in Terminal Server scenarios as well. Gaurav from the PM team and Vishal Maru from the Test team will present and will be available to answer questions. Thursday 5/25, 9:00 am – Noon
