Digital transformation highlights the growing need for securing corporate data as employees interact and collaborate across mobile devices and cloud apps. Microsoft is committed to delivering an innovative approach to securing this transition for our customers. Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) delivers identity-driven security without getting in the way of your users’ productivity experience. With the expansion of our identity-driven security solution that we announced in July, Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) is now Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) . We also announced a new expanded EMS E5 plan which will be available beginning Oct 1 along with the new Microsoft Secure Productive Enterprise offers. Earlier this year we also introduced the preview of Azure Information Protection to provide customers a comprehensive information protection solution, and today we are announcing that Azure Information Protection will also be generally available on Oct 1 . We’d like to thank our customers and partners for their continuing support of EMS and with that in mind share some examples of how they are successfully using EMS to secure their digital transformations:

Unilever
On any given day, 2 billion people use Unilever products to look good, feel good and get more out of life. To drive growth, and maintain security, embracing the cloud has become a key investment. Unilever chose EMS to create the backbone of their identity-driven security approach:“For us EMS was about making our employees lives easier in terms of access to applications and data while at the same time using new security capabilities to keep those applications and data safer. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is key to that strategy. More than half of our users are now protected by MFA delivered by EMS. We’re also publishing more than 200 on-premises web applications to the cloud with Azure Active Directory App Proxy which makes our employees lives easier since they can securely access these apps without VPN.” Stephen Booth, IT Solution Manager, UnileverMany customers are now using Azure AD as the control plane to provide secure access to on-premises web apps. We are also working with Ping Identity to expand this capability to connect the full set of legacy and custom on-premises apps that are not standards-based.
Avanade
Avanade is the leading provider of innovative digital and cloud services, business solutions and design-led experiences delivered through the power of people and the Microsoft ecosystem. Avanade currently secures corporate data on nearly 10,000 employee owned bring-your-own (BYO) mobile devices. To keep corporate data safe without interfering with an employee’s personal device Avanade is leveraging Microsoft Intune Mobile Application Management (MAM), part of EMS, without requiring a device to be enrolled for management.“Our employees are a digital workforce and it’s imperative that they have the right tools that help them do their jobs effectively whilst protecting corporate data. Without the need for device enrollment, EMS and specifically MAM helps us provide our employees with a security solution that is robust, simple to use and clearly understands the way a digital company works.” Joseph Paradi, Senior Director, ITS Enterprise Services, Avanade
Crystal Group
Established in Hong Kong in 1970, Crystal Group is a leading garment manufacturer, producing 3 billion garments a year in 20 factories for global companies and their brands such as Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Zara, GAP, M&S, and others. Faced with constantly evolving threats, Crystal Group needed stronger protection to safeguard its customers’ confidential designs and corporate data against the most sophisticated attacks. Crystal Group deployed Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics as part of its comprehensive Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security implementation.“Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics uses multiple data sources, including raw network traffic and Active Directory, as the foundation for user identities. This allows it to cross-check all user behaviors and activities and gives us more comprehensive protection for all the areas we need to cover.” Henry Chan, IT Manager – Technical Support, Crystal GroupThe below is a recap of the changes to our Enterprise Mobility + Security offers in more detail:
