This morning at our Reimagine Secure Access with Microsoft Entra digital event, we announced new product innovations within Microsoft Entra. Don’t miss our Microsoft Security blog highlighting all the announcements.
A brief overview of what we shared at the event:
Secure access to any app or resource, from anywhere
Today we introduced our identity-centric Security Service Edge solution with Microsoft Entra Internet Access – an identity-centric Secure Web Gateway (SWG) to protect access to internet, SaaS, and Microsoft 365 apps, and Microsoft Entra Private Access - an identity-centric Zero Trust Network Access to secure access to private apps and resources.
These two products, coupled with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps comprise Microsoft’s Security Service Edge solution, allowing organizations to secure access to any app or resource and enforce unified Conditional Access controls.
Azure Active Directory is becoming Microsoft Entra ID
To unify our portfolio and simplify product naming, we announced that Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is becoming Microsoft Entra ID. No action is needed from you; there are no changes to any capabilities or licensing plans; and all existing deployments will continue to work seamlessly in your environments.
More identity innovations in Microsoft Entra
During the event, we also covered our recent announcements including the general availability of Microsoft Entra ID Governance, the preview of Microsoft Entra External ID, and new innovations in Microsoft Entra ID Protection and Microsoft Entra Verified ID.
