Discover the latest enhancements in Shared Device Mode

Our new Shared Device Mode (SDM) updates help frontline teams work faster and safer across shared iOS and Android devices. With SDM, frontline workers can now enjoy seamless global sign-in and sign-out across Microsoft Teams and other supported applications. IT admins also gain the ability to target conditional access policies to devices configured with SDM, enhancing both security and efficiency.

SDM support for SOTI on iOS

We're thrilled to announce that SOTI support for Shared Device Mode on iOS is now generally available! With this update, customers managing iOS devices through SOTI can now register their devices with Microsoft Entra ID using Microsoft Shared Device Mode at scale. This enables Single Sign-On (SSO) for both Microsoft and third-party apps that support the Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL).

Additionally, customers can implement compliance-based conditional access for devices registered with Microsoft Shared Device Mode. This enhancement from SOTI simplifies deployment for IT administrators and empowers them to enforce device compliance policies on shared devices more effectively. Learn more

Note: Intune has supported shared device mode for Android since 2023 and iOS since 2024. To learn more, check out the documentation for Android and iOS:

SDM is also supported by these MDMs:

Jamf (iOS), Omnissa (Android), SOTI (Android & iOS), 42Gears (Android)
