What's New in the Documentation Library for Azure Rights Management, November 2014
The following information lists the topics that contain significant changes since the last update (October 2014).
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn655136.aspx
- Updated the http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn655136.aspx#BKMK_ClientCapabilities table for the latest support statements: For Windows computers, added Nitro PDF Reader as supported for Protected PDF documents.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj585004.aspx
- Updated for the information that SharePoint does not use the rights policy templates that you see and can create in the Azure Management Portal. Instead, after you enable Information Rights Management for a library, documents in that library are protected by inheriting the permissions that the administrator configured for the SharePoint library. However, there are also additional Rights Management settings that you can configure, which offer near-parity with the settings that you can configure for custom RMS templates.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn375964.aspx
- Updated for the following:
- Specified which Exchange and SharePoint server roles communicate with the RMS connector and therefore need configuring for the connector. Do not run the tool on server roles that are not listed, or on the servers that run the RMS connector service.
- Clarified that when you configure servers to use the connector, it's important to specify the load-balanced name of the RMS connector rather than one of the servers running the RMS connector service.
- Added information about whether the servers require a restart after you configure them to use the RMS connector, so that if necessary, you can plan for a short disruption to service.
- Removed from the File Classification Infrastructure registry settings section, instructions how to find your Microsoft RMS service URL. This value is not needed for FCI configuration.
