We are pleased to announce the security review for Microsoft Edge, version 109!

We have reviewed the new settings in Microsoft Edge version 109 and determined that there are no additional security settings that require enforcement. The Microsoft Edge version 107 package continues to be our recommended baseline. That baseline package can be downloaded from the Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit.

Microsoft Edge version 109 introduced 7 new computer settings and 7 new user settings. We have included a spreadsheet listing the new settings in the release to make it easier for you to find them.

As a friendly reminder, all available settings for Microsoft Edge are documented here, and all available settings for Microsoft Edge Update are documented here.

Please continue to give us feedback through the Security Baselines Discussion site or this post.

I think the security baseline for Microsoft edge version required different types of functionalities sometime when you install them it create different types of errors so you should know more   before installing these type of Microsoft security edges, Although, latest versions have the proper settings but it is not understandable before having proper knowledge about it.

  • Thank you, Microsoft Security Baselines are really valuable, they make things so much easier from a security standpoint.

I began to use it on my project too, instead of reinventing the wheel, now I use Microsoft Security Baseline and then apply any personalized setting on top of that.

It's a yes in a nutshell. As part of the next revision when we are adding new settings to the baselinehttps://essentialsclothing.co/ we will go back and remove those that are obsolete.

  • The setting "Configure Microsoft Defender SmartScreen to block potentially unwanted apps" is configured in the GPO Reports but not the Excel spreadsheet with all settings.
I assume the exported GPO Report is correct.

  • mktl73 the short answer yes. We will go back and remove obsolete settings during the next revision where we add settings to the baseline.

    Hi Rick_Munck

Do you plan to remove the obsolete entries such as DisplayCapturePermissionsPolicyEnabled, TripleDESEnabled and U2fSecurityKeyApiEnabled?

    Thanks
