Ace Aviator of the month

February's Ace Aviator: Mattias Lögdberg

What is your role and title? What are your responsibilities associated with your position?

As CEO of DevUP Solutions AB. My role is a mix of strategy, product innovation, sales, and community engagement. I drive the vision for Helium, our SaaS platform, ensuring it delivers real value by simplifying and securing Azure cloud implementations.

Beyond business growth and coding, I’m deeply involved in guiding customers on security, best practices, and cloud governance. I also prioritize knowledge-sharing—whether through customer interactions, the Microsoft community, or speaking engagements. Building relationships and continuously learning and sharing are key aspects of what I do every day.

Who are DevUP Solutions?
We love being the supporting partner that helps developers and integration teams succeed. Seeing teams spend more time on what truly creates value—rather than unnecessary complexity—is what drives us.

That’s why we create products and services that simplify, guide, and ensure secure and reliable solutions. We want teams to feel confident in their results, knowing they are building something stable, efficient, and future-proof.

Can you provide some insights into your day-to-day activities and what a typical day in your role looks like?

A typical day for me is quite dynamic, but it often includes:

  • Morning standup with the team to plan the day and check customer feedback.
  • Development work—I like to stay hands-on.
  • Customer meetings, helping them improve their Azure environments.
  • Education and inspiration, either internally with the team or externally through community contributions.
  • Sales meetings with potential new customers.

Or a day could be talking on a conference and get to know new interesting people.

Every day is a mix of strategic thinking, technical problem-solving, and customer interactions. And I love it!

What motivates and inspires you to be an active member of the Aviators/Microsoft community?

I’ve always had a passion for sharing knowledge and helping others grow. It started in my youth when I helped friends who struggled in school, making sure they grasped the key concepts to pass their tests.

Being part of Aviators and the Microsoft community allows me to scale that impact. I can now help hundreds or even thousands of people learn new skills, overcome technical challenges, and gain confidence. That feeling—when someone tells me that my content helped them—is the best motivation I can ever get.

  • Looking back, what advice do you wish you would have been told earlier on that you would give to individuals looking to become involved in STEM/technology?

If you’re scared to post a blog, share your thoughts, or speak on stage—just do it. There will always be people who appreciate your way of explaining things. Waiting for the "perfect moment" only delays your growth.

The first time might be terrifying, but the more you do it, the better you get. Each challenge you overcome builds confidence and opens new doors. The sense of achievement that comes from pushing past your fears is unmatched—there’s no better feeling than proving to yourself that you can do it.

Keep going, improve step by step, and never hesitate to ask for help. The tech community is filled with amazing people who are happy to support you on your journey. Every expert was once a beginner—you just need to take that first step. You can do it!

What has helped you grow professionally?

For me, growth comes from always learning something new and sharing knowledge. Teaching others has opened doors I never expected and created incredible opportunities.

A key piece of advice from a mentor that has stuck with me is:
“Be like a wasp—conquer new challenges and move on. Don’t get stuck thinking, ‘I created this, so they can’t let me go.’ Instead, focus on constantly learning, sharing, and taking on new challenges so that people don’t want to lose you.”

This mindset has shaped how I approach my work. Instead of holding onto a single achievement, I aim to continuously evolve, contribute, and create impact.

Another important area has been communication skills—learning how to keep an audience engaged, structuring better presentations, and telling compelling stories. Through that, I’ve built strong relationships that have helped me learn even more.

Lately, I’ve been diving into mental health and well-being, which I wish I had focused on earlier. It’s an important topic that impacts everything—from productivity to creativity and resilience.

Imagine you had a magic wand that could create a feature in Logic Apps. What would this feature be and why?

If I had a magic wand, I’d introduce direct access (or debugging tools) for built-in connectors. Sometimes, it’s hard to understand why a connector behaves a certain way or what settings you might have missed. Having better insights into what’s happening under the hood would save a lot of troubleshooting time—especially for new things like using the file connector in Logic App Standard,  which I’m last conquered struggle! 😄
