In my career I have spent more time then I want to think about in meetings and I have missed many meetings as well. There are many reasons for missing a meeting, from being on vacation to being offsite or being double booked, but these reasons should not keep you from staying informed.
Most meeting software has the capability to record a meeting. However, getting access to that recording, sharing or searching for or in that recording is not always easy or in many cases, possible.
That has all changed with Microsoft Teams Cloud Meeting Recording. Not only can you easily trigger the recording to start and stop, but now with the recording process being completed by Microsoft Stream you gain the ability to search and seek within the full video transcript that is generated, jump to specific locations in the meeting based on people detection, and watch the video with Closed Caption for an inclusive experience.
If you hold your Meeting within a Team Channel, the recorded meeting is made available from within the conversation timeline as seen below. Those attendees that could not make the meeting are now able to quickly gain access to the recorded meeting along with any conversation history that was captured in the Team Channel during the meeting. If I miss a meeting now I can go back to that Team and watch it and with the added search I have the ability to search for my name to see if I need to capture an action item or maybe just to find out if someone was talking about me.
If your meeting was not held within a Team you can still share that meeting recording from Microsoft Stream.
Background Blur
For those that are using their cameras for a richer meeting experience, you can now turn on background blur to prevent distractions or maybe hide intellectual property that may be on a whiteboard behind you.
