Microsoft 365 Live Events How To and Deep Dive QA Webcast

Lisa1342 and aelongo To have a person in real-time you you would need to have the video going through an external encoder, probably on a secondary machine, then getting served up to Teams Live Events via a device like a Magewell or Elgato. If an internal event and using an external encoder (hardware or software) then that is already baked in with ability to have picture in picture. No one tuned in and asked this question during last webcast as near as I can tell or I would have addressed then. As to documentation any documentation that is specific to accessibility will be under the closed captions capability for Microsoft Teams Live events which has this for both hearing impaired as well as non-native speakers. I am pretty buried the rest of this week. Would love to address but with all the work piled on my head if you want me to do an actual full post on this I am going to need your help. We have the same problem, we need more than one screen for the event, since we have sweat in the company. Using a third tool is complicated as users with basic knowledge will be operating.

We are also facing this issue of needing to have an ASL Interpreter live on screen during live events. Do you have any written instructions on how this can be accomplished? Our IT department is at a loss. I did send them your response to the previous question, but not sure if you had documentation regarding the exact steps. We value access for our Deaf staff.

Hamilcar King Hi thanks for the question! You would need to run a split screen view if doing all mixing via Teams native and have the interpreter in the video window and content in the right. If not you would need to do mixing outside of Teams then use a device like a Magewell to bring in to Teams

Great video ! My organization has a need to have an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter on screen at all times during our MS Teams live events, for the obvious benefit of our hard-of-hearing/deaf staff. Each live event will have 4 or 5 different presenters (excluding the interpreter), so the interpreter must remain on screen as we cycle through the presenters. How can we do this using MS Teams Live Events ? Thanks
