Several newsgroup customers have recently reported Explorer refresh issues when connecting to shared folders using a DFS path. For example, if you connect to a shared folder directly (without using the namespace) and create a file or rename a file in a shared folder, the change is evident immediately. However, when you use the shared folder’s DFS path to make the same type of change, you have to refresh the window to see the change. Turns out this is an Explorer issue fixed in Windows XP SP2. A change to the registry is also required. Check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823291/en-us for details.
