Today, we released yet another update for Get & Transform ā€” a powerful set of Excel 2016 features based on the Power Query technology, which provides fast, easy data gathering and shaping capabilities.

This update is available as part of an Office 365 subscription. If you are an Office 365 subscriber, find out how to get the latest updates. If you have Excel 2010 or Excel 2013, you can also take advantage of this update by downloading the latest Power Query for Excel add-in.

One of the most frequent requests from customers using the Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Data Warehouse connectors in Excel has been to leverage Azure Active Directory Authentication in order to connect to Azure services.

With this update, we introduced a new "Microsoft Account" option within the Credentials dialog for the Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Data Warehouse connectors, allowing users to authenticate using their Azure Active Directory account credentials.

Can we have a regular update to the blog on the new releases on Power Query please? There have been two further (I think) releases since this one in February and it is not always obvious what is new in each version!

    Cheers

  • Deleted, it is available starting from Excel build Version 1801 (Build 9001.NNNN) which comes with Power Query version 2.54.4970.321.

  • What is the Get & Transform Excel 2016 or Power Query Version that this feature is implemented in? Also, what KB updates is this feature included in?
