Cloud computing continues to grow. Cloud providers report incredible growth including Microsoft reporting one third of revenue due to Azure . The adoption of the cloud across enterprises is projected to increase rapidly in the future. Here are two posts for thought:
In the article by James Staten , How to turn cloud economics to your advantage , he points out how many enterprises are not getting the most out of cloud platforms by taking advantage of the pay-per-use model. By taking advantage of automated scaling, solutions can scale to fit computing demands. He points out this is a shift from traditional capacity planning where the maximum load was considered to thinking instead of considering the minimum load with the capacity to scale.
