The Azure Portal has recently been updated to provide a more comprehensive view of resources: Azure Monitor. The monitor is available as a new tab:
It provides a centralized view of Activity Logs, Metrics and Diagnostics Logs as well as a means of managing Alerts. Combined with Application Insights and Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS), Azure Monitor greatly increases the visibility and control of Azure Resources.
