If you have thousands of similar equipment then you'll need to train and inference on each, although they have the similar functionalities, but the data pattern might be different based on many reasons like age of the equipment, sensor vendor and others. And the inference will depend on your business requirement, if you have data coming in every few minutes and you want to get real-time or near real-time alert, then you could call the inference every few minutes.
